Today not only marks an important day for Los Angeleans, but for many Koreans as well. Even though I was only four when the LA Riots occurred, I identify with the people because for one I am a second generation Korean and two, I am a daughter of a Liquor store owner. To risk and give up everything and move to a completely foreign country in hopes of achieving a better future for oneself and their offsprings is a feeling only a few have experienced in this generation. I don’t know what I would do if the riots ever happened again. But violence is not the answer. What have we achieved so far? So much for the American dream huh? #LARiots #laweekly #FailedAmericanDream (Taken with instagram)
